In the beginning… it was tough. Writing is not for the faint of heart. I began writing this series on the suggestion of an editor. I discussed story themes with my (then) five year old grandson, which is where all ten stories came from! Then I found a wonderful illustrator who could draw everything…except fairies. So I reached out on Facebook requesting an illustrator who could draw fairies. The first reply came in in minutes. After we spoke Mike Quiones G. said he would send a “sample fairy” over, but if I didn’t like it, that was okay, because he had friends he could reach out to for me. Twenty minutes later I got his illustration and Nissa was born! That very weekend (which happened to be Mike’s birthday) my husband and I drove to Nashville to meet this wonderful illustrator and the rest is history! Mike Quiones G is a dream of a man, artist, and now father. We have worked on several projects together ever since.
